Use of fireworks allowed from 5pm to 10pm before Diwali, and 5pm  to midnight on Diwali


People can use fireworks from 5pm to 10pm on the days leading up to Diwali, however, on Diwali day which is next Tuesday, the permitted hours are from 5pm to midnight.



According to the Explosives Act 1937, no one is allowed to use or discharge fireworks outside the permitted hours while an exception is made each year for Diwali.



Everyone is urged to use fireworks safely and responsibly, without putting anyone’s life or property at risk.
