You should look at harvesting water coming from the heavens while the Water Authority of Fiji is trying to speed up the process of restoring water supply across the country.
Minister for Infrastructure, Jone Usamate has made this plea and is urging people to store water for at least two days to make things easier for everyone as we all are living in difficult times.
Talking about water restoration, Usamate says they are currently dealing with ageing infrastructure. He says there is a lot of impact and pressure on the resources they have at hand to be able to deal with the problems brought by recent cyclones.
Usamate adds that a lot of rainfall is also not good for the Water Authority of Fiji as it is having an impact on its infrastructure.
The Minister for Infrastructure says government is family committed and will ensure people have access to water, power and roads.
People living in Navua, Labasa, Seaqaqa, Dreketi, Vunivau, Nabouwalu, Savusavu and Taveuni have zero percent water restoration while Sigatoka has 25% restoration.
Tavua is sitting at 50%.
Suva-Nausori water supply is at 80% while Rakiraki, Ba and Lautoka have 85% restoration.
WAF is urging people to boil all drinking water.
