“I cannot afford to catch the bus or buy lunch because of the high cost of living”.
A student at the University of the South Pacific says she is struggling to maintain her finances due to the high cost of living.
The 20-year-old says some days she has to sacrifice her lunch money because she does not have bus fare to travel to USP and back home to Samabula.
She adds despite having a job she does not have the funds to buy stationery or a phone to use for her assignments and group projects.
The USP student questions when people will be able to afford the basic necessities and make ends meet.
