University of the South Pacific is hosting a Thanksgiving Service to welcome its Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President for USP, Professor Jito Vanualailai says that the prayers of the staff, students and their families have been fulfilled as the Vice Chancellor has safely returned to Fiji with his wife Sandra Price.
Professor Vanualailai has thanked the Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka for giving the opportunity for Professor Pal to return to the USP family.
Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad are also present at the service.
Professor Ahluwalia was exiled from Fiji by the previous government, arrived in the country last Friday.
He arrived in the country with his wife, Sandra Price.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka had lifted the restrictions for Professor Ahluwalia in December last year where he stated he is ready to meet the Professor personally and will apologise on behalf of the people of Fiji for the way he was treated.
