The US Embassy has today in partnership with the Asian Foundation donated various books to the Suva City Carnegie Library.
While making the donation, US Ambassador Joseph Cella encouraged children present in the library to make full use of the resources made available to them.
The U.S. Embassy shares similar goals to the Asia Foundation for promoting human development through reading, education, and learning important life skills.
The books arrived in Fiji earlier this year and will be delivered to over 30 institutions including libraries, schools, learning centers and government offices over the next several months.
Meanwhile, Special Administrator for Suva City Council, Isikeli Tikoduadua, i s also encouraging children to read more as it will help them in the future with their spelling.
He is also encouraging parents to motivate their children to read more as it widens their imagination.
