British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced his resignation.
Johnson says a timetable for his departure would be laid out by next week.
He has pledged to stay on as PM until a successor is chosen and assured cabinet he would only act as a caretaker PM.
US President Joe Biden has reacted to Johnson's decision to step down, saying the "special relationship" between the US and UK "remains strong and enduring".
