A 2-year-old boy of Nakama, Labasa is believed to have drowned on Monday afternoon.
Police say the child was with his grandmother at their home before he disappeared.
The boy's body was later found floating in the Nakama River by a teacher.
Their house is next to the Nakama River.
The drowning death toll currently stands at 11 compared to 12 for the same period last year.
