An extraordinary public feud erupted today between the United States of America President, Donald Trump and his one-time ally Elon Musk.
Trump is saying he was “very disappointed” with the tech billionaire for criticising his massive tax, spending cuts package and floating the idea of terminating his companies’ government contracts.
Musk on X posted that the former head of DOGE responded that Trump would have lost the election without him.
Meanwhile, earlier Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a long-anticipated phone call on trade.
The phone call was the first between the leaders of the world's two biggest economies since Trump launched a trade war with Beijing in February.
Trump says it resulted in a very positive conclusion and both leaders extended invitations to visit their respective countries.
