Son Heung-min and Harry Kane scored twice, with Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier getting a goal each for Tottenham.
Tottenham have moved to 5th on the points table with 7 points while United are 16th with 3 points.
Meanwhile, Arsenal beat Sheffield United 2-1 while West Ham defeated Leicester City 3-0.
