With the announcement that the 2021 Met Gala will be taking place where it was themed: 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion', there’s been a fresh buzz of Met-related excitement about the storied event.
Considering the 2020 gala theme: 'About Time: Fashion and Duration') was cancelled for obvious reasons—hundreds of celebrities packed in a crowded museum wouldn't have been the best idea—there's been plenty of speculation about how stars will interpret this year’s theme.
There’s even more reason to speculate when considering the broad spectrum of how celebrities interpreted Met Gala themes of years past.
Though it’s not mandatory to follow the theme to the tee, it’s strongly encouraged.
While some themes are easier to follow, others require a little more wide-ranging thought and imagination.
In any case, some people nailed the theme so well, they practically set the standard for theme-abiding.
