Fiji labor party leader Mahendra Chaudhry says he does not consider the Economic Summit to provide answers to the problems raised in the country.
He highlighted this when questioned by fijivillage News whether he was invited to the Summit and why he did not attend the Summit.
Chaudhry says he was first invited to the Economic Summit as the General Secretary of the National Farmers' Union and last Friday he was invited as the leader of the Fiji Labor party but he declined the invitation stating his reasons.
He says the summit is largely organized as a stampede of the governments strategy and tradition which is ineffective.
When questioned if his presence at the summit would have raised his concerns to be considered, Chaudhry says there will not be enough time for people to clearly speak and the discussions will have to be centered around an official paper.
He says this is an exercise in rubber-stamping the government's own strategies and agenda without consideration of the stakeholders.
