Taxi driver in custody for allegedly crashing into 2 properties

A 38-year old taxi driver of Nakasi has been taken into custody for allegedly crashing his taxi into the gates of two properties in Kalokalo Cresent in Makoi this morning.

Police say it is alleged that the driver was drunk when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into the retaining wall of the house.

An eyewitness says the incident happened at 1.15am.

There were three people in the taxi including the driver.

Due to the impact of the accident, the taxi overturned.
