Tagicakirewa and Bolalevu take up acting PS roles following Yauvoli’s resignation

The Public Service Commission has confirmed that Pita Tagicakirewa has been appointed Acting Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service, while Laisa Bolalevu has been appointed Acting Permanent Secretary for Public Enterprises.

Tagicakirewa is the current Executive Director of the Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service (FLIPS) and former Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage and Arts.

Bolalevu is the current Director of Monitoring at Public Enterprises.

Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Luke Rokovada confirmed that Amenatave Yauvoli, who was appointed as Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service and Public Enterprises on 5th May 2025, has resigned from the role for personal reasons, effective 31st of July this month.

Rokovada says it is understood that Yauvoli has accepted a senior executive position with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) office in Suva.

He thanked Yauvoli for his dedicated service to the nation over the past decades and wished him well in his new role.

Rokovada says that these acting appointments are necessary to maintain stability in both Ministries, following recent changes in senior public service leadership resulting from the sudden resignation of Yauvoli and the recent passing of the late Parmesh Chand.

The changes to the leadership of the Ministry of Civil Service and the Ministry of Public Enterprises have been agreed by the Public Service Commission and the Prime Minister.
