It was an experience that the people of Coboi in Bua will never be able to forget as Tropical Cyclone Yasa nearly killed a 2 weeks old baby.
Coboi Sanatan School Headteacher Ramesh Kumar says the baby was sleeping when a piece of timber fell just next to the baby.
Kumar says there were almost 60 people taking shelter in the school.
Vice President of the school Deo Chand also told Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum that they had to cut the floor of one of the buildings so that people could escape from underneath the floor as the building had started to shake.
53-year-old Chand says he has never seen or experienced anything like TC Yasa.
Sayed-Khaiyum visited the school yesterday.
