World Rugby has confirmed that the Sydney and Hamilton 7s will not be part of the 7s schedule in 2022 due to the ongoing travel and logistical challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
They say advanced discussions are ongoing towards replacement hosts for these events in the 2022 Series.
The complete HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2022 schedule will be announced later this month.
Along with this, the Singapore and Cape Town rounds have been removed from the 2021 calendar, with back-to-back combined Dubai 7s events now set to open the 2022 Series.
The Vancouver and Edmonton 7s will be played later this month however the Fiji 7s team will not be participating in it.
