Suva wins VPL title after six years

The Suva soccer team has won the 2020 Vodafone Premier League title after their match against Nadi ended in a 0-0 draw this afternoon.

Suva has finished the season with 27 points.

This was their first league title win in 6 years.

Suva had not won any major title in the past 3 years.

Rewa has also finished the season second with 27 points after defeating Lautoka 5-3 this afternoon. They were behind on goal difference compared to Suva.

Lautoka was leading 3-0 at one stage of the game but Rewa scored 5 goals to seal a dramatic comeback.

Gabrieli Matanisiga scored twice for Rewa while Mohammed Naizal, Setareki Hughes and Tevita Waranivalu scored a goal each.

Ba has ended the season on 3rd place with 23 points.
