Defending men’s champion, Suva has lost to Mid Central in the opening match of the Vulaca volleyball tournament.
The Mid Central team won the final set 16 to 14 to defeat Suva.
The much anticipated Vulaca Volleyball tournament is underway at the FMF gymnasium.
Meanwhile Suva Blues women's captain Vunise Mateiwai says she is ready to defend the title they won last year and she knows it won’t be easy this year.
Mateiwai says the competition is stronger this year because the game has grown over the years and the bronze medal win at the Pacific Games for the women's category has really boosted the games.
