Electoral Commission Chairman Suresh Chandra has stepped down from his position.
He says today is his last day in office.
When asked by fijivillage on why he is stepping down, Chandra says he will not make any comments on it as he has not advised anybody officially yet.
Meanwhile, Supervisor of Elections and Secretary to the Electoral Commission, Mohammed Saneem says Chandra's decision was a shock to him.
He has referred all questions on reasons for Chandra's departure to Chandra.
