Successful conclusion of MSME training program marked in Suva

Successful conclusion of MSME training program marked in Suva

21 recipients have been awarded certificates of completion by the Ministry for Employment, following the successful conclusion of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Business Training held in Suva.

The participants completed a three-day intensive program earlier this week, designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with practical skills in business management and marketing to help support and grow their small enterprises.

While speaking at the certificate ceremony, Director of Cooperatives Iosefo Koroidimuri says MSMEs are the backbone of any country’s economy, and he admires those individuals who sell beans and sweets by the roadside every day.

He says there are people who are embarrassed to do that kind of work, but these entrepreneurs are not.

Koroidimuri also encouraged participants to remain committed to their entrepreneurial journey, noting that success starts with humble beginnings.

The training program forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and promote self-reliance through sustainable business practices.

26-year-old Yitzhak Mudreilagi, one of the recipients, also shared his thoughts on the program and said that youths who choose to start small businesses should recognize the opportunities available, such as government grants for small enterprises.

He says that one can start by having a goal, and through the program, it will push them in the right direction.
