Stigma and discrimination have long been a barrier that prevents individuals from seeking help, embracing opportunities and living their lives to the fullest.

This is the message shared by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications Manoa Kamikamica while officiating at the St Pius Paris Community Fun Day and Bazaar at Raiwaqa.

Kamikamica says with the theme, “Stop Stigma and Invest in Prevention”, reflects the reactions, attitudes and commitments to create a more inclusive and compassionate society.

He says whether it be in the rare mental health, physical disabilities, social or economic disparities, these barriers are detrimental to the progress and well-being of the community.

He says a collective responsibility is to break down this world and foster an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and supported.

He adds investing in prevention is not just a strategy, it's a moral imperative.
