Crusaders captain David Havili had a simple message for his side after they ventured into unfamiliar territory with a 0-5 start to the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
He wants the team to stay positive and keep moving forward after falling 26-6 to the Blues at Eden Park last night.
On what went wrong in the loss to their strongest rivals, Havili was open about the handling that has plagued the Crusaders as the set-piece fell apart again.
Havili says there were too many knock-ons, and they couldn’t really build any pressure.
The Crusaders ended with 40 percent possession and just 39 percent territory as the Blues camped deep inside the Crusaders’ half for the second stanza.
In the end, the Crusaders had to make a whopping 202 tackles compared to the 82 by the Blues, while they missed a staggering 44 tackles as the weight took its toll.
This week, the Crusaders will host the Chiefs at 6.05pm Friday.
In other Super Rugby Pacific matches, the Waratahs will face the Rebels at 8.35pm Friday, the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will meet the Force at 1.05pm Saturday, Moana Pasifika will take on the Blues at 3.35pm Saturday, the Highlanders will host the Hurricanes at 6.05pm Saturday and the Reds will meet the Brumbies at 8.35pm Saturday.
