The Standing Committee on Public Accounts has recommended that there be more support provided for the Prime Minister’s Talanoa Sessions.
This follows the review of the Office of the Prime Minister 2017-2018 Annual Report.
The Committee has noted that these sessions have had a positive impact on Fijian communities and they have also commended this.
The Review Report of the 2018 Annual Report of the Office of the Prime Minister was tabled in parliament by the Chair of the Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights, Alvick Maharaj and will be debated on a future sitting of the parliament.
They have also recommended that the Office continues its work in facilitating and supporting the Prime Minister’s role in championing the efforts in mitigating the impacts of climate change.
The Committee has also noted that one of the key achievements of the Office of the Prime Minister was the support it provided to the Prime Minister in the role he played in Fiji’s COP 23 Presidency.
They say this has made Fiji punch above its weight.
