The seven politicians who were taken in for questioning by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department yesterday have all been released.

This includes former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad, NFP President Pio Tikoduadua, SODELPA MP’s Lynda Tabuya, Adi Litia Qionibaravi and Ro Filipe Tuisawau and Unity Fiji Leader Savenaca Narube.

Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu says they were taken in for questioning in relation to their statements on the Bill to amend the iTaukei Land Trust Act.

Meanwhile, the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission is liaising with Police on its investigations pertaining to the members of Parliament.

Director Ashwin Raj says they will provide a comment on the matter once the CID has furnished it with details of the investigations, the nature of the allegations, and the need to question the MP's.
