A Severe Thunderstorm Alert for heavy rain is now in force for South-eastern parts of Viti Levu which include Suva, Nausori, Deuba, Navua, Sawakasa, Namalata, Navuakece, Waidina, Naitasiri, Veinuqanamosi, Tabiwai, Buretu and Korovou.
People are advised to keep clear of flooded creeks and drains, not to walk, ride bikes or drive through flood waters, unplug computers and appliances, stay indoors away from windows and keep children and pets indoors as well.
They are urging people to stay vigilant and monitor conditions
