A 48 year old security officer has been charged for allegedly assaulting a 64 year old woman outside a shopping complex in Lautoka and will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today.
Police say the man is charged with one count of assault.
The man was seen in a video that was being circulated on social media beating up an elderly woman, who was sitting on the road.
In the video, the man is seen telling the woman in Hindi that he has been telling her for the last time and for her to get lost.
He is also seen swearing at the woman.
The woman has been taken for a medical check-up.
