The Wallabies has suffered a major blow to their Bledisloe Cup Test and Tri-Nations campaign after fly-half Matt To’omua’s international season is over as scans revealed that his groin injury is as bad as they first feared.

The Herald reported on Tuesday that To’omua is not expected to take part in the two remaining Bledisloe Cup matches or the Rugby Championship after picking up the injury while kicking in the first half of Australia’s 27-7 loss to the All Blacks on Sunday.

Sources close to To’omua said that scans on Wednesday confirmed the severity of the injury and he won’t be back in 2020.

The Wallabies have four Tests remaining this year; two against New Zealand and two against Argentina.

To'ouma may still complete his rehab while in Wallabies camp, or base himself in Sydney or Canberra for the coming weeks rather than fly back to Melbourne.

Meanwhile, the Wallabies will meet the All Blacks in the third Bledisloe Test at 8.45pm next Saturday at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
