FijiFirst Party General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad claimed the $1 a day per child initiative was a saqamoli budget, made fun of it and even insulted the recipients of the initiative however Professor Prasad says that is not the case and he stresses the people of Fiji deserve better.
While speaking at a FijiFirst rally at Field 40, Lautoka, Sayed-Khaiyum says after the recent commotion that happened between Russia and Ukraine and the recent floods and natural disasters, prices of goods went up in Fiji and it was beyond their control but the government came up with the initiative to help the people.
While replying to Sayed-Khaiyum’s statement, Prasad says he has never insulted anyone but instead all he said was people of this country deserve more than what the government has provided.
He says Sayed-Khaiyum should not be talking about insults because he has insulted the people of this country more since he is the Minister of Economy delivering the budget but only provided $1 a day per child.
