The NRL has announced that all games for today have been called off and all 16 clubs have been placed on Level 4 biosecurity protocols in the wake of the Queensland government announcing a snap three-day lockdown this morning.
A statement released by NRL this afternoon stated that the three matches set for tonight has been postponed.
It says they respect the decision of the Queensland Government to keep the community safe and healthy following local transmission of COVID-19 in southeast Queensland.
The NRL is continuing discussions with the Queensland Government to possibly play matches tomorrow.
Thirteen interstate clubs were recently relocated to southeast Queensland due to restrictions in Sydney and Melbourne.
The lockdown begins at 4pm today after six new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by Queensland's chief health officer.
The three postponed matches include the Dragons and Rabbitohs match, the Knights and Raiders and the Storm and Panthers game.
Queensland Rugby League confirmed this morning that all state-wide competition games had been cancelled for the weekend.
