The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji is strongly urging all Supermarkets and retailers to immediately remove any alcohol or liquor products that contain photos of Hindu deities.

This is after Lord Ganesh’s photo was spotted on the Brookvale Union Ginger Beer label in one of the renowned supermarkets in Fiji.

Sabha National Secretary Krishneel Tiwari says supermarkets and retail shops should validate the products before putting it on the shelves as these kinds of acts hurt the sentiments of their Sanatan Dharm followers and is an insult to their deities.

He says the beer is manufactured by 4 Pines brewing company in Sydney Australia where a man had launched a petition against the company in 2013.

He says it is also known to all Sanatan Dharm Followers around the world who are preparing for the celebration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration in India (Bharat) on 22nd January 2023 and this type of marketing approach is seen as an attempt to undermine the Sanatan Dharm and its teachings.

Tiwari further requests all manufacturers to put proper labels on vegetarian items and remove Hindu deities photos from Incense stick (Agarbatti) packets.
