Sai Prema Foundation Fiji has collaborated with the Fiji Performing Rights Association to look after musicians and their families across Fiji with grocery packs.
70 families will be assisted through this initiative.
FPRA Director Seru Serevi says families of musicians have had to endure a tough period as most have been unemployed for a significant period.
He says Fiji’s music industry has had to take a significant hit through this pandemic and most musicians and performers are dependent on the hotel and food industry as well as corporate events.
Serevi says they are grateful to Sai Prema Foundation for accepting their request to assist these struggling families.
Director of Sai Prema Foundation Fiji, Sumeet Tappoo who is a renowned singer says this was something close to his heart as he understood the pain of the artists.
Tappoo says when Serevi contacted him about the struggling musicians in Fiji, he saw it as his duty to ensure that Sai Prema Foundation did all that it could to assist these families and ensure they don’t go to sleep hungry.
