Ronaldo thanks Cavani for letting him have the iconic 7 jersey

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he did not think it was possible to wear his beloved Manchester United number 7 jersey again and has thanked fellow teammate Edinson Cavani for the gesture.

Cavani opted to take the number 21 shirt just so Ronaldo could wear the 7, a jersey which he has worn for most of his career.

Ronaldo has expressed his delight to be back "home" at United and is hungry to create more history with the club.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's return to Old Trafford was made official on Wednesday as he signed a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further year.
