Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar.

Roadside vendors whose illegal structures were removed before TC Yasa are now moving into empty stalls made available for them by different municipal councils.

Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar says most municipal council markets are empty and they still have people selling on the roadside.

Kumar says the vendor associations have written to her saying if people are selling on the roadside, they will also move to the roadside.

The Minister is urging roadside vendors to register for a stall with the municipal council as space is available for them.

Empty stalls are now available in council market facilities for those vendors who have had their roadside stalls removed.

There are also extra stalls at the Laqere-Nasinu Market, Nausori Market, 53 stalls at Vunidogo Market; Suva Main Market has 30 spaces available.

Namaka Market has 30 stalls available; Nadi Market has 50 stalls; Ba has 15 empty stalls and Lautoka has 50 spaces available.
