Retired cop to celebrate Fiji Day with family after 36 years

Retired police officer Rakasala Rabici will celebrating Fiji Day with his family for the first time in 36 years as he has been on duty to ensure Fijians are safe.

The retired Police Inspector says they celebrate Fiji Day in the Police Force with a different perspective as their main priority is looking after the security of the people as celebrations go on.

He says he is excited to be spending the day with his wife, children and extended family this year as he is a free man now.

Rabici who now sells fruits and vegetables at the Suva Market says over the past 3 decades, the burden on his shoulder was the safety and security of the people as he took an oath over the Bible to put his duty first.

Rabici has also sent his well wishes to the Fiji Water Flying Fijians team ahead of their game against Portugal tomorrow and says he strongly believes and prays the Flying Fijian will come out victorious.

Rabici says the Flying Fijian qualifying for the quarter finals will be the best gift for Fijians this Fiji Day.
