Reconciling the past will further enable Fiji to contribute to global peace with clear eyes and reconcile with its own history, which is hugely important at this time of global insecurity.
This was stressed by the British High Commissioner to Fiji, Dr Brian Jones, while closing the 3-day RFMF Reconciliation and Restoration Workshop at the Peninsula International Hotel in Suva.
He says Fiji is one of the proudest and most significant nations of peacekeepers, both the Fiji Police and the RFMF.
Dr Jones says peace is important at this time in the world as we look to our Fijian peacekeepers serving in the Middle East.
The Commissioner also highlighted to the participants the importance of having pride in the institutions they come from and trust between communities, which is underpinned by good governance in all the institutions.
Dr Jones assured the participants that they will support, alongside international partners, this program.
