Crushing operations at the Rarawai Mill have been temporarily suspended following a mechanical issue with the mill’s boiler system.
Fiji Sugar Corporation Ltd CEO Bhan Pratap Singh says the fault was identified earlier in the day, leading to a full shutdown to carry out urgent repairs.
He says technical teams are currently on-site working to fix the problem, with crushing expected to resume by midnight tomorrow.
FSC says growers and lorry operators can contact their respective sector officers for further updates.
