Team Fiji athlete Taniela Rainibogi has won Fiji's third medal in the Commonwealth Games after winning bronze in the Men’s 96kg weightlifting competition.
Rainibogi lifted a total of 155kg in the snatch and 343kg in the clean and jerk.
The 24-year-old says the World Championship is next for him, where he will try to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Don Opeloge of Samoa won gold, while Vikas Thakur of India won silver.
Looking at other results, Banuve Tabakaucoro finished the 100 metres heats in 5th place with a time of 10.64 seconds, Shanice Takayawa lost to England in the 70kg judo quarter-finals, the Women's Lawn bowl Triples team beat Malaysia 17-14, the Women's Lawn bowl Pairs team lost to Scotland 16-13, and Fiji lost to New Zealand in the women's four bronze medal playoff.
Today, Gerard Takayawa and Tevita Takayawa will take part in the Judo Men’s +100kg elimination round at 9pm, Team Fiji swimming will take part in the Men's 4x100 metres medley relay heats at 10.10pm while Helen Anastasia Seipua will feature in the final of Women's +87kg weightlifting.
