Fiji’s Taniela Rainibogi has set a new Commonwealth Games record and won gold in the man’s 109kg category during 2024 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship.
The Sportsman of the Year lifted 167kg in the snatch and set a new Commonwealth Games record in the clean and jerk with a lift of 211kg for a total of 378kg.
Samoa’s Livi Nanai won silver while Vanuatu’s Thomas Wilbur won bronze.
