Officers from the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces have gathered at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua to be part of the matanigasau presentation to the Great Council of Chiefs.
RFMF Commander, Major General Jone Kalouniwai had formally requested the council's presence at Delai Nabua to receive the traditional apology.
According to the GCC Chair, Ratu Viliame Seruvakula, the gesture follows concerns raised during yesterday’s GCC meeting, where members reflected on the past, including the day the military entered the GCC meeting venue in 2006 and stopped the meeting.
The ceremony is yet to start.
