Pryde grateful for support and Tribunal’s decision

Decision provides much needed jurisprudence – Pryde

Pryde grateful for support and Tribunal’s decision
Reinstated Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde

Reinstated Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has thanked the judges of the Tribunal for their decision and the Fiji Law Society for its extremely helpful submissions as amicus curiae.

Pryde says the decision has exonerated him, and he is grateful for everyone’s support during this very difficult time.

He says the Tribunal’s decision is important because it provides much needed jurisprudence in this area and helpful guidance to constitutional authorities in dealing with similar cases in the future.

The DPP says he looks forward to returning to the office and reacquainting himself with his staff.

Pryde adds he also looks forward to working with the new Police Commissioner and building on the ODPP’s strong relationship with the police.
