Chairperson of the Judicial Services Commission, Chief Justice Salesi Temo confirms that Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde has been granted leave with full pay until his resumption on the 3rd of February, 2025.
Chief Justice Temo says that in implementing the decision of the tribunal, the Commission had advised Pryde of his resumption of duties effective from the 20th of January, 2025 however he says Pryde has communicated to the President that given his need to respond to allegations raised by Acting DPP, Nancy Tikoisuva and submitted to the JSC, he will defer his return to 3rd February.
He says in accordance with the principles of natural justice, the JSC has provided Pryde with a copy of the allegations and requested a formal response within 14 days.
The Chief Justice says the JSC acknowledges the ongoing legal process involving FICAC.
He says while this matter is under review, the JSC will refrain from making public comments related to the investigation.
