Professor Prasad urges Fijians to celebrate and share their cultures with everyone to foster peace and progress

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad is urging all Fijians to celebrate and share their cultures with everyone to foster peace and progress for the betterment of the country.

While officiating at the Holi celebrations organised by the Indian High Commission Professor Prasad says as a government they recognise the importance of festivals across our multiracial country which brings the people together and symbolises peace.

He also says the relationship between Fiji and India is on a new trajectory and they have escalated that relationship to new heights in the last 14 months.

The Deputy Prime Minister further says celebrations such as Holi show deep-rooted connections shared by the two countries.

He says India’s role as part of its Indo-Pacific strategy, is going to be significant, and therefore he acknowledges such a forum for promoting and getting people together.

Professor Prasad also acknowledged the contributions of India and its status as a global player.
