The Australia Women’s 7s team will be without their main strike weapon Maddison Levi for their pool games after being red carded for a high tackle in the final in Cape Town.

Caslick says the pressure of being raging favourites to win a home tournament – with their most prolific attacker suspended for half of it – will serve as the perfect Olympics dry run for them.

Australian skipper, Charlotte Caslick says obviously, they will miss Levi for the first three games, but it just opens the door for other girls to have an opportunity

Caslick says they have not talked about it in the sense of winning the first three, but the home tournament is always a benchmark.

Australia’s leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series has moved west after seven years in Sydney and the in-form local women head into the event looking to claim a rare hat-trick of tournament wins, after victories in the opening two legs in Dubai and Cape Town in December.

The Australia Women’s team are pooled with Ireland, Great Britain and the USA.

The Women’s cup quarter finals will start at 7.26pm Saturday, the semi finals will kick off at 4.22pm Sunday, and the final will be held at 9.13pm Sunday.

The HSBC Perth 7s is on from tomorrow till Sunday.
