Police have visited bus company operators throughout the week to ensure the incidents which occurred last week are not repeated where some passengers were seen rocking a bus from side to side after a rugby match.

Chief Operations Officer Abdul Khan says the visitations were conducted in the Southern, Central, Eastern and Western Divisions to address issues of concern highlighted recently on social media.

He says operators and drivers were asked to be mindful of the safety of the travelling public and police will not hesitate to take action against passengers for unruly behavior.

He says Divisional Traffic Officers who conducted the visitations assured the bus operators that they would assist if incidents were brought to Police’s attention.

Khan is also calling on members of the public to play their part and avoid repeating what transpired last week as it will not be condoned.
