Police taskforce investigating separate reports against Qiliho, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Bainimarama - Acting ACP Raikaci
Former Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, former Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and suspended Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho .

Police have confirmed that the taskforce led by the Director CID is currently investigating separate complaints filed against suspended Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho, former Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and former Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigations Acting ACP Sakeo Raikaci says reports have been received against Qiliho and they are being handled by the special taskforce team.

The details of the complaints have not been revealed.

FijiFirst Party General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum was questioned for two days last week, and investigations continue.

Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management and General Secretary for the People’s Alliance, Sakiasi Ditoka had filed a complaint against Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on the 22nd of December last year for allegedly inciting racial hatred and violence in view of his public statements at a press conference in Suva.

In that press conference, Sayed-Khaiyum had claimed of stoning incidents highlighted by the Police and said that this demonstrates the divisive character of the People’s Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka.

When questioned, Sayed-Khaiyum had further claimed on that day that they had received reports of some incidents including bus drivers getting slapped.

The three complaints against Leader of the Opposition, Voreqe Bainimarama are also with the CID team.

The complaints deal with statements made last month.

Bainimarama is yet to be questioned.
