Fiji born Pita Gus Sowakula is sticking to his dream to become an All Black for now but has admitted if nothing comes his way to wear the black jersey by 2023, he will compete for a spot in the Flying Fijians.

Sowakula has also confirmed that he has signed with the Chiefs till 2023.

Speaking to Stuff.co.nz, Sowakula says his main aim travelling to New Zealand in 2016 was to wear the All Blacks jersey but if nothing happens he will return to Fiji and try to make the national team.

But donning the All Blacks jersey will be quite a challenge for the 26-year-old with Hurricanes captain Ardie Savea doing a great job filling the shoes left by former All Blacks captain Kieran Read after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The Chiefs will play the Crusaders at 7.05pm tomorrow.
