Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says racial equality was one of the key ingredients of Prophet Muhammad's message and it is for people to apply these teachings in their daily lives.

While speaking at the Prophet Muhammad's birthday celebration at Girmit Centre in Lautoka today, Sayed-Khaiyum says racism was fundamentally opposed by the Prophet.

Sayed-Khaiyum adds most of the Prophet’s teachings are not being followed because it is easy to give speeches about love and compassion but difficult to follow in practicality.

He says all these celebrations come for nothing if people do not practically apply it in their lives.
