Commissioner Northern, Uraia Rainima says some people in the Northern Division are raising false alarm so that they can receive assistance.
Rainima says when they visit these people, they find out that there is no damage to their homes.
He adds these people might be seeing other communities receiving assistance and they would also like to get assisted.
Rainima says they are discouraging people who are doing this, as everyone is trying their best to help one another.
He says there are individuals and organizations in Fiji and overseas who are assisting people in affected areas.
Rainima says few people have not received food ration and they have raised the issue with him.
He adds they are now providing them with food rations from their office.
