Supermarkets in Ba have been busy since yesterday with people shopping and trying to stock up on food as they do not want to be caught out if a lockdown will be announced later in the week.
This was highlighted by the President of Ba Chamber of Commerce Dinesh Patel as he says the lockdown is necessary and the sooner they can have it, the better.
Patel says everyone needs to play their part in trying to contain COVID-19 when the lockdown is enforced.
He says all the non-essential businesses are closed in Ba at the moment but most of the shops in town are open as they are essential.
Patel says they are also worried about the spillover of people from containment to non-containment areas as they might have brought the virus into Ba.
He says all businesses have been told to strictly abide by the COVID-19 guidelines with the threat of anyone that enters their shop carrying the virus.
