Parents are strongly encouraged to prioritise effective supervision of their children.
This was highlighted by Narcotics Awareness Officer Inspector of Police, Usaia Donu during the Drug Awareness program organised by Drug Free World Fiji at Kalekana settlement.
IP Usaia Donu says this is a concrete initiative and they have been mandated by the Commissioner of Police to save the lives of this younger generation.
The awareness program was attended by children, youths and parents at the Kalekana community hall. IP Usaia Donu further acknowledges Drug Free World Fiji and Motibhai for their support and commitment to advancing this initiative for the improvement of the Kalekana community.
Drug Free World Fiji founder Kalesi Volatabu who was also one of the speakers says the community invited them to engage in open dialogue and discuss about drug awareness.
Historically the Kalekana community has been identified as one of the ‘Red Zones’ in Suva.
