Chair of the Public Service Commission, Luke Rokovada has confirmed that Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand passed away at the CWM Hospital early this evening.
Rokovada says the late Permanent Secretary has been ill for some time.
He says they have lost a great friend and colleague who has been a tower of strength in the Fiji Civil Service.
The Chair says Chand gave his all in serving his country with dedication and honour and he will be sorely missed.
